How do you make shoe bottoms more slippery (reduce friction)? Making dance shoes for men…?

Dance Shoes
Hi everyone!
Ok, so I want to be Link from Hairspray for Halloween and I bought these cheap used dress shoes that I want to convert into dancing shoes for my costume.
Real dance shoes have leather on the soles, but I was wondering if there was an easier way to reduce the friction on the bottom of the shoe. I don’t want to go out and buy expensive dance shoes for one night, and I would rather not go out to buy leather and hot glue it onto the soles.
Any ideas?
Thanks so much!

Irish dancers, to get the friction just right on our shoes, we put duct-tape on the soles, but it doesn’t work so well unless you’re on an actual dance floor. Plus, it’s kind of different in your case. You don’t want the same type of friction that we do.

Take some sandpaper to them. I often do this to reduce frction as I am a ballroom dance teacher…Jennie:)

Either duct tape or you can buy a patch of suede or felt from a crafts stop and glue it to the bottom of your shoes. It’ll hold up for one night. With the duct tape you can reapply if you need to mid evening.
